Протестующие сожгли офис правящей партии.

Protests were triggered by the economic and energy crisis.

A group of Cubans dissatisfied with power outages and fuel shortages attacked the office of the Communist Party in the city of Morón in central Cuba.

Prior to this, a protest had taken place in the city due to rising food prices and the energy crisis.

The Cuban Ministry of the Interior reported that five people were arrested.

The state newspaper Invasor states that the demonstration "started peacefully" but then escalated into "acts of vandalism." "A small group of people began throwing stones at the building and then set fire to furniture that was in the lobby on the street," the report said.

The publication reported that several other state institutions, including a pharmacy and a store, were also attacked.

Videos appeared on social media showing people throwing stones at the windows of the Communist Party office and shouting "Freedom!" Meanwhile, a large bonfire blazes in the middle of the street.

The Cuban Ministry of the Interior reports that law enforcement has begun an investigation into the "acts of vandalism."

In recent months, Cuba has been experiencing a severe energy and food crisis, with frequent power outages on the island and rising prices for medicines and food. Essential services such as hospitals, public transportation, educational institutions, and garbage collection are among those suffering.
