The mayors of London and New York want to unite to "deal with" Trump. The New York mayor stated that he considers Trump a "fascist" and a "despot."
London Mayor Sadiq Khan and New York City Mayor Zohra Mamdani want to unite to "deal with" U.S. President Donald Trump. This was reported by Newsweek.
"We both face a challenging task — dealing with President Trump, but I look forward to what we can achieve together," the publication quotes Khan's words in an interview with the British press.
The leaders of the two megacities have already exchanged messages and intend to develop cooperation. However, Khan did not confirm any specific plans for a personal meeting with the New York mayor, emphasizing that the dialogue has already begun.
In November of last year, Trump accused the London mayor of inaction amid rising crime in the city. According to the American leader, Khan is allowing immigrants to live under Sharia law, ignoring British legislation. He noted that in the British capital, as in Paris, there are areas that the police do not even want to approach.
Trump also considered the election of socialist Muslim Mamdani as New York City mayor a loss of part of U.S. sovereignty. In response, Mamdani stated that he still considers Trump a "fascist" and a "despot."
