Над Украиной пролетает...

Speaking about the situation around Pokrovsk, the expert noted that active hostilities continue there.

The Russian Federation continues to carry out air terror against peaceful cities in Ukraine with missile and drone strikes. Additionally, the Russian invaders do not refuse to continue fierce battles on the front. The occupiers aim to secure better negotiating positions for themselves if negotiations come to pass. This was stated by Alexander Musienko, a serviceman of the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine and a political scientist, on Radio NV.

Alexander Vladimirovich Musienko is a military and political expert, legal advisor, head of the Center for Military-Legal Studies, and co-founder of the "National Political Academy." As a lawyer, consultant, and advisor, he has worked in various positions in state and private institutions and organizations since 2009. He has been a licensed attorney since 2013.

"The desire for a ceasefire will never be demonstrated by the cessation of attacks. On the contrary, the closer we get to a ceasefire, the more escalation there will be, as much as possible. This is an axiom and a regularity because Russia will seek to secure the largest, best, and most favorable negotiating position for itself," noted Musienko.

In his opinion, the Russian invaders are currently working to achieve this in different directions.

The first direction is pressure on Ukraine. "Attempts to break through in the Donetsk region and capture as much Ukrainian territory as possible in the Donetsk region in order to later pressure, insisting on their demands for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk region," added Musienko.

The second direction is the continuation of terror to create internal problems for Ukraine, namely social, domestic, and economic issues. Strikes are occurring against energy and critical infrastructure, as well as gas extraction.

And the third direction is the attempt to intimidate the world with nuclear escalation. "Hence the frequent statements about the Burevestnik, Poseidon, and Oreshnik in Belarus, and much more, to try to create a crisis like the Caribbean one, and then create a negotiating position," added Musienko.

He considers the mass air attack that Russia carried out last night to be predictable. The enemy will strive to create everything so that its position at the negotiating table is stronger.

What is Happening in Pokrovsk

Separately, speaking about the situation around Pokrovsk, the expert noted that active hostilities continue there, and reconnaissance and sabotage groups of the enemy are approaching.

"We see, and they have planted flags. This is not a new story. The thing is that there are those who, for money and at great risk, want to plant flags, they run, but this does not indicate that control has already been established there," emphasized the military.

The situation in the Pokrovsk area is complicated because the Russian occupiers want to cut off logistics for the Ukrainian defenders, trying to effectively block the flanks and push out the Ukrainian grouping:

"There are attempts by our units to create and expand so-called kill zones and gray zones, using drones in greater numbers. And the course of hostilities will show how the situation will develop further there."

At the same time, he finds it strange that discussions in Ukraine continue regarding Russian statements about the alleged "encirclement" of Kupiansk, because Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has been promising encirclement in various directions since 2022, but this has never happened.

"And the fact that the Russian command continues to talk about this constantly, but it does not happen in any of the sections of the front where Russia predicted it would. Our forces have retreated. Somewhere very difficult, with battles and losses, unfortunately, but still, they broke through and retreated. And there has not been a single case where any cauldron was formed," said Musienko.
