Shocking Revelation: How a Straight-A Student in Germany Used AI Glasses for Three Years and What Punishment She Faced

Ukrainian German language teacher Irina Mikhailova shared an incredible story from her son's school: a student wore 'smart' glasses for three years, consistently achieving outstanding results. Her brilliant successes, which made her the best in the class, were suddenly called into question due to an unfortunate technical malfunction.

Ukrainian German language teacher Irina Mikhailova shared a remarkable case that occurred in her son's school. One of the students successfully used 'smart' glasses for three years to ace all her assignments and be the best in her class. However, one day, during a test, the glasses started to 'beep' due to a dead battery, which did not go unnoticed by the teacher.

Irina Mikhailova shared this story in her note on Threads, causing a wide resonance. The teacher reported that the student was expelled from the gymnasium with no right to attend classes in Berlin. Additionally, the girl will have to repeat the curriculum for at least until the 9th grade.

Unexpected Revelation

Mikhailova detailed what happened: "In my son's gymnasium in Berlin, a girl was caught wearing AI glasses during lessons in a parallel class. She wore them for three years, and everything would have been fine if they hadn't beeped during the test because the battery was dying. And the teacher noticed it... For three years, the girl wrote all her written assignments with a grade of 1 and was the best in the class."

Consequences for the Student

The consequences for the schoolgirl turned out to be quite severe. "The girl was expelled without the right to attend the gymnasium in Berlin; I can't speak for other states. Moreover, she must repeat the curriculum for at least the 9th grade," the teacher added. Mikhailova expressed her bewilderment: "How the teachers did not notice such glasses, and where the parents were looking – unfortunately, I cannot answer these questions. The story is a bit fantastic; if it hadn't happened in our school, I probably wouldn't have believed it either."

The Phenomenon of 'Smart' Glasses in the World

Although 'smart' glasses are not widely used in Germany, they are in high demand in China. There, students actively use them not only for studying but also for taking exams. The devices are often rented out as virtual cheat sheets, with prices ranging from 5 to 10 euros per day.

These gadgets can display mathematical solutions or translations directly in the user's field of vision. Thus, many young people unconsciously or consciously resort to the help of artificial intelligence during exams. Built-in cameras scan worksheets and send data to the cloud, which promptly returns the correct answers.

The glasses are virtually indistinguishable from regular models, making their use inconspicuous. Students often control the displays using smart rings or bracelets, avoiding direct contact with smartphones.

Fighting Technological Deception

Despite the fact that smart glasses are officially banned in many schools and universities, their use remains extremely difficult to monitor. This creates an increasing problem for teachers who have to face new forms of cheating. Researchers from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology confirm the high effectiveness of such glasses in examination situations.

At the same time, scientists are actively working on developing methods that will help teachers identify such devices. This will allow schools and universities to more effectively combat the dishonest use of technology.
