At the Beijing stand of the Bavarian automaker, the updated BMW 7 Series was presented to the public alongside its electric counterpart — the restyled flagship sedan BMW i7. This electric car, like its gasoline counterpart, sparked lively discussions with its bold and unconventional design. Auto Mail correspondent from Beijing noted that the electric 'seven' looks incredibly impressive and grand.
Although the exterior may not appeal to everyone, it fully aligns with the brand's new, daring philosophy. The car exudes luxury, and its body, sparkling and shimmering under the spotlight, adds a unique flair. The updated BMW i7 still relies on the proven CLAR platform and is equipped with a 400-volt architecture.
The flagship electric sedan has received a completely new sixth-generation lithium-ion battery, utilizing cylindrical cells and boasting an impressive capacity of 112.5 kWh. Buyers will have access to three different variants of this model.
The base version, BMW i7 50 xDrive, is equipped with two electric motors that produce a total of 455 horsepower, providing a range of up to 728 km according to the WLTP cycle. The mid-range variant, BMW i7 60 xDrive, offers 544 horsepower and can travel up to 727 km on a single charge.
At the top of the lineup is the flagship BMW i7 M70 xDrive, which impresses with a power output of 680 horsepower. This monster can cover up to 650 km without recharging, offering maximum performance.
