Google removed 1.75 million malicious Android applications in 2025.
Google has announced the removal of nearly two million Android applications. This was noted by the publication Android Authority.
In a report by Google Vice President Vijay Kaza, it was stated that in 2025, the corporation blocked access to the Play Store for more than 1.75 million applications. The company also disabled accounts for 80,000 developers who were caught distributing malware.
Google acknowledged that it achieved impressive results by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) directly into the system that handles content moderation. Kaza specified that employees still analyze and review applications, but the neural network finds violations more quickly.
Additionally, Google continues to combat fake reviews and spam ratings in Google Play. In 2025, 160 million ratings were removed. The corporation reported that the built-in malware scanner in Android analyzes 350 billion applications daily.
