According to experts, there is no universal answer to this question: the required amount of memory depends on the operating system (OS) and the tasks the computer performs. For PCs running Windows 11, at least 16 gigabytes of RAM is needed — this configuration is found in most laptops on the market.

The situation is slightly different for Apple computers. "Since Apple machines are optimized for everyday tasks, 8 gigabytes of RAM will be sufficient," the journalists noted. However, they clarified that recently the IT giant has started equipping its Macs with a minimum of 16 gigabytes of memory.

The popular operating system ChromeOS, which is widely used in the West, will also be fine with 8 gigabytes of memory. "This is enough for browsing the web and performing office tasks," the specialists noted. "In general, the more memory, the better the computer should perform. But for excess RAM, you will have to pay a high price," the journalists concluded.
