The launch of sales on June 30 will show how the market will perceive the quite "adult" price.

In the vast market of mobile gadgets, some users, saturated with endless novelties, sometimes feel the desire to acquire something in the style of "retro" and simultaneously take a break from the burdens of digital life.

Once a well-known PC manufacturer, the revived brand Commodore has introduced the Callback 8020 flip phone with a somewhat forgotten retro design. The main idea of the developers is to remove all the excess, return the feeling of simplicity, and help distract from the everyday digital hustle, leaving only what is necessary for communication and basic needs.

The Callback 8020 takes us back to the classic era, the "homeland" of flip phones, where Commodore has added its own modern digital interpretation: the mobile phone should cease to be the center of constant attention and become a tool that is used as needed.

The flip design brings us back to the style of the early 2000s. Several color options are offered — white, silver, beige, Starlight Edition, and Founders Edition with gold accents.

The phone is equipped with two screens — an external one displaying the time, date, battery level, and connection status, and an internal 3.25-inch screen with a resolution of 480 × 640. The control is primarily designed for the keypad, while touch input is disabled by default.

The device runs on Sailfish OS — a Linux platform developed by the Finnish company Jolla. The phone can run up to 99% of Android applications, but social networks, web browsers, and email are blocked. The phone operates on a MediaTek Helio G81 processor, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It also features a removable battery, a headphone jack (in-ear headphones are included), and a 48 MP camera.

The price of the standard version is $500, the Starlight Edition will cost around $550, and the Founders Edition is approximately $640. Pre-orders will open on June 30, 2026, and deliveries are planned by the end of the year.
