A coronal hole shaped like the number one has been discovered on the Sun.
A large coronal hole with an unusual shape resembling an inverted number 1 has been observed on the Sun. This was announced by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory on their Telegram channel.
"It resembles a huge inverted number '1', although with some imagination, like in clouds, one can probably see many things here," the publication states.
It is specified that the height of the hole is about one million kilometers. According to the laboratory, coronal holes on the Sun have started to appear more frequently since the first months of 2025 after the peak of solar activity.
Previously, astronomer Avi Loeb stated that a new anomaly has been noticed in the cloud around comet 3I/ATLAS, which is referred to as a spaceship. According to him, small particles under the influence of radiation pressure from the Sun typically form a comet's tail, while the cloud around 3I/ATLAS is formed by relatively large dust particles, which is why the comet lacks a typical tail.
