On Saturday, May 23, during Museum Night, passengers will be able to travel by train in Latvia with a 50% discount. The promotion will apply to evening services across the country.
During Museum Night, train rides in Latvia will become cheaper. The company "Pasažieru vilciens" (PV) announced that on Saturday, May 23, there will be a 50% discount on full fare tickets.
The discount applies to trains that will be in transit from 6:00 PM to midnight. This means that some evening services can be used for trips to Museum Night events at a reduced price.
For example, the promotion will also apply to the train from Skulte to Riga, which departs at 5:09 PM and arrives in the capital at 6:23 PM.
PV explained that when purchasing tickets through the mobile app or website, the discount will be applied automatically. Discounted tickets will also be available at ticket offices.
If the ticket office at the station is closed, the conductor will issue a ticket at the promotional price directly on the train.
Importantly, the Museum Night discount cannot be combined with other benefits and special offers, including discounts for holders of the "Honorary Family Card."
This year, Museum Night will take place in Latvia for the 22nd time. Across the country, 246 museums, exhibition spaces, and cultural venues will be waiting for visitors.
Most events will traditionally be free, although some activities may require separate payment.
Museum Night has long become one of the most popular cultural events of spring in Latvia. Many residents use this evening not only to visit museums but also to travel to other cities and unusual night routes.
The initiative began in Europe in the late 1990s at the initiative of France. Its original goal was to attract people who usually do not visit museums.
Now, Museum Night takes place in many countries across Europe and annually attracts thousands of visitors.
