Apple has urged not to leave smartphones charging in bed due to the risk of overheating.
Apple has urged users to avoid charging their smartphones in bed. This was highlighted by UNILAD.
At the end of December, Apple updated its support page, which published information about the safe use of iPhones. The recommendation added a point warning about the dangers of charging smartphones at night. The message states that there is a risk of overheating the adapter or iPhone if they are placed in a poorly ventilated area.
Media journalists explained that Apple advises against leaving smartphones in bed or among blankets and clothing while charging. Otherwise, the smartphone may overheat, break, or even catch fire. "Do not sleep on the device, power adapter, or wireless charger, and do not place them under a blanket, pillow, or body," the note states.
Apple representatives also advised avoiding prolonged contact with the gadget or cable when the iPhone is plugged into a power source. The message states that this could cause discomfort or even injury.
