Windows 11 has added a giant Start menu that occupies almost the entire screen, causing inconvenience to users of Microsoft's operating system.
Windows 11 has introduced a new Start menu that occupies a large portion of the screen. This was reported by Windows Latest.
The upcoming release of a major update for Windows 11, which includes the new Start menu, was announced in mid-November. Media editor Abhijit MB installed the update and noted that the new menu has grown to enormous sizes. Previously, under standard settings, the Start menu occupied 50-60 percent of the screen when opened, but now it opens to 90 percent of the screen.
According to the specialist, the Start menu used to be a secondary element of the operating system (OS), but now it has turned into a full-fledged page with applications and documents, as well as a tab for accessing the smartphone. Abhijit MB pointed out that on laptops with a 14-inch screen, the updated menu takes up almost all the workspace. However, on giant monitors, it only appears in the center of the screen.
The article states that the decision to turn the Start menu into a separate window was certainly a deliberate one. The journalist from Windows Latest reminded that previously, Windows users did not have issues with the Start menu. They could literally resize it with the cursor or even move it to any part of the screen.
