A vulnerability in motherboards helped cheaters in the game Valorant.

A vulnerability in computer motherboards helped cheaters in the popular game Valorant. This was stated in a statement by the game's developer, Riot Games.

The company's specialists reported that they found a critical vulnerability in several motherboards that could be exploited for the stealthy injection of code. In turn, attackers used this system flaw to deceive the anti-cheat system of the online game Valorant and gain an unfair advantage.

The vulnerabilities affected motherboards from Asrock, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI. Engineers at Riot Games emphasized the seriousness of the issue: "If this problem had gone unnoticed, it would have completely undermined all existing protective technologies on the market."

Riot Games advised users to update the anti-cheat software (software) for Vanguard, which included a patch to fix the issue. The solution to the problem was related to updating BIOS settings. "BIOS updates are not as exciting as counting the number of banned players, but it is a necessary step in our arms race against hardware cheaters," the developers of Valorant concluded.
