The organizers of The Game Awards have listed the candidates for Game of the Year.
The organizers of The Game Awards (TGA) have named the best games of 2025. The nominations for the award were announced on YouTube.
The Game Awards is considered the main award in the gaming industry. Less than a month before the award ceremony, its organizers revealed the titles that will compete for the title of Game of the Year. Among the nominees are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
The TGA jury also unveiled the list of other categories — "Best Action," "Best Narrative," "Best Multiplayer," and so on. The leader in the number of nominations was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This is a role-playing game for personal computers (PC) and consoles, released by Sandfall Interactive in April 2025.
The organizers announced that everyone can cast their votes for the games on the official award website — these will be taken into account in the jury voting. The award ceremony will take place on the night of December 12.
The best game of 2024, according to the TGA jury, was Astro Bot. The PlayStation exclusive also won in the categories of "Best Game Direction," "Best Action-Adventure," and "Best Family Game."
