The Tesla robot has become smarter, learned to fold laundry, and wipe the table.

The Tesla Optimus robot has become smarter and has learned to better handle fine motor skills. This was stated by the chairwoman of the company's board, Robyn Denholm, in an interview with CNBC.

In the interview, Denholm was asked when Optimus would become as agile as a human. The top manager noted that the humanoid has become smarter and has better mastered fine motor skills — for instance, it can fold clothes.

"I interacted with Optimus in the lab. It can fold laundry. It does a great job wiping the table. It can hand you things. You can even shake its hand," said Robyn Denholm. The chairwoman of Tesla's board also noted that the robot's manipulators — mechanical arms — have developed impressive capabilities to sense objects.

In conclusion, Denholm admitted that robots are already helping people in Tesla's offices in Palo Alto, California. "We are changing the perception of transportation, but we are also changing the perception of robotics," noted the Tesla top manager, emphasizing that robots will become useful and versatile in the future.

Tesla's CEO Elon Musk stated that he wants to control an army of robots. He has not yet abandoned the idea of creating thousands of Optimus robots.
