Now, two games from Rockstar Games are in the top sales: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5, which holds the second spot, trailing only behind Minecraft.
In its latest report, Take-Two Interactive announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 has become the fourth best-selling game of all time, trailing only behind Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Wii Sports.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 79 million copies, while the entire Red Dead series has sold a total of 106 million copies worldwide. Additionally, according to analysts, RDR2 remains "the best-selling game in the last 7 years in the U.S. by dollar revenue."
Previously, it was behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which has sold over 78 million copies, but it is now approaching the third spot currently held by Wii Racing. Red Dead 2 needs just 3 million more copies to surpass this record.
For Take-Two and Rockstar, this list would be quite interesting, as now two of their games are in the top four best-selling games of all time: GTA 5 with a colossal 220 million copies sold and Red Dead 2 with 79 million.
This reflects the significant impact Take-Two has on the video game industry and how the company plans to do the same with the release of GTA 6. Furthermore, the company announced that it is continuing work on the next BioShock game.
