Apple CEO Tim Cook explained why his company has not yet released the promised artificial intelligence (AI) tools. This was noted by the publication Gadgets360.
In a report for investors dedicated to the results of the third financial quarter, Cook stated that the corporation is still working on developing and improving AI features and tools. The entrepreneur also promised the release of a new version of Siri. He explained that the company missed the deadlines for the release of the smart voice assistant because its development turned out to be "not an easy task."
At the same time, Tim Cook noted that the IT giant intends to present a new AI-based version of Siri in 2026, but did not specify exact deadlines. It will appear on iPhone, Mac, iPad, and other gadgets. Apple was supposed to release an advanced version of the voice assistant in 2024 but did not meet the designated deadlines.
The Apple leader also mentioned that the company is open to new contacts and is ready to collaborate with a large number of partners in developing AI tools. Thus, he commented on the fact of cooperation with OpenAI, the developer of the ChatGPT chatbot.
