All participants of the quarter-final matches of the World Ice Hockey Championship taking place in Switzerland are clear. We just need to wait to see who will face whom in the tough playoffs.
In Group A of the tournament playoffs, the teams of Switzerland, Finland, Latvia, and the USA made it through. The American team finished in fourth place, while ours finished third. The teams of Switzerland and Finland will decide in their last group stage match who will take first place in the group.
In Group B, the teams of Canada, Norway, the Czech Republic, and Sweden qualified for the quarter-finals. The Swedish team finished in fourth place in the group, while Canada secured first place. The remaining positions will be known after the last match in the group between the national teams of Canada and the Czech Republic.
Accordingly, Latvia's opponent will be Norway if Canada wins, and the Czech Republic if they lose.
The quarter-final matches of the World Ice Hockey Championship will take place on May 28.
