The new Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Madjar, announced that Budapest will extend restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.

Such bans have been in effect in a number of EU countries since 2023.

This specifically concerns Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, although the list of "sensitive" agricultural products subject to restrictions varies in these countries.

The European Commission has urged EU countries that still maintain unilateral restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to lift these measures, said European Commission representative Toma Renier, commenting on the new Hungarian government's decision to maintain the ban imposed during Viktor Orban's rule.
