Latvian athlete Denis Vasiliev will perform his free program at the Figure Skating World Championships today in Prague, reports LETA.
The competition will start at 13:30 Latvian time, and the live broadcast will be available on LTV7.
Vasiliev will perform under number 12 and will be the last in the second group of skaters executing the free program.
In the short program, the Latvian athlete scored 82.27 points, which is his second-best result of the season, placing 13th among 36 participants.
In turn, Fyodor Kulish made two falls early in the short program, scored 56.85 points, and finished in 36th place, failing to qualify for the free program.
After the short program, American Ilia Malinin is in the lead with a score of 111.29 points. Frenchman Adam Siao Him Fa is in second place with 101.85 points, while Estonian Alexander Selevko rounds out the top three with 96.49 points.
26-year-old Vasiliev is participating in his tenth World Championship. His best result was in 2020 when he placed sixth.
For 21-year-old Kulish, this was his second World Championship and his first as a citizen of Latvia. The Ukrainian native finished 24th in his debut championship last year.
At the Olympic Games, Vasiliev and Kulish finished 18th and 28th respectively, while at the European Championships, they placed 9th and 15th respectively.
