US President Donald Trump has made an unexpected initiative in the world of combat sports. During a conversation with renowned American boxer and vlogger Jake Paul, the head of the White House expressed interest in organizing a fight between his interlocutor and the famous Russian fighter.
The conversation turned to potential opponents for Jake Paul.
Jake Paul asked the president who he would like to see him fight.
"Maybe Khabib," Trump said in an interview with Jake Paul on his YouTube channel.
Jake Paul has 14 professional fights under his belt, of which 12 ended in victories (seven by knockout) and two by losses. The blogger made his professional ring debut in January 2020, when he defeated fellow countryman Ali Louis Al-Fakhri, better known as AnEsonGib, by technical knockout in the first round. Paul's last ring appearance was in December 2025 in Miami, where he lost to Joshua by knockout in the sixth round.
As for the potential opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov has long retired, remaining undefeated. The UFC Hall of Famer and former lightweight champion had his last fight in October 2020 at UFC 254, winning against Justin Gaethje by technical submission (triangle choke) in the second round. The Russian has a total of 29 wins and no losses.
