In the fourth round match, she defeated Chinese player Wang Xinyu (ranked 46th in the WTA) with a score of 7:6 (7:4), 6:4.

In the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, Anisimova will face compatriot and world No. 6 Jessica Pegula.
