The International Testing Agency (ITA) wants to implement strict control over compliance with the rules at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. This was reported by Inside the Games.
It is expected that doping officers will begin inspecting the personal luggage of athletes upon their arrival at the competitions. An agreement is currently being prepared with the Ministry of Justice and the Customs Agency of Italy, which will allow for the procedure of opening the bags of delegation members.
This practice will be the first of its kind in the history of the Olympic Games.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22.
