Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko has been the world number one for 70 weeks.
The Belarusian is the 12th in the history of the WTA rankings (which began in November 1975) to reach such a milestone. On December 29, she will tie with Caroline Wozniacki (71).
At the same time, Sobolenko has led the rankings for 62 consecutive weeks. In the 20th century, only Serena Williams (186 weeks), Ashleigh Barty (114), Iga Swiatek (75), and Martina Hingis (73) had higher figures.
