Tommaso Giacomel from Italy won the mass start at the third stage of the World Cup in Annecy.
He completed the 15 km distance in 33 minutes and 35.1 seconds with one miss at four shooting ranges. This is Giacomel's third victory in the World Cup.
The second place was taken by Frenchman Eric Perrot, who had no misses and finished 18.1 seconds behind the winner, and third was Vetle Christiansen from Norway (21.3 seconds behind; 2 misses). The best of the Latvian biathletes, Andrey Rastorguev, finished in 40th place.
The next stage of the World Cup will take place from January 8 to 11 in Oberhof.
