Latvia's top player Alona Ostapenko has dropped seven positions in the updated WTA rankings and now occupies 36th place. At the same time, Daria Semenistaya improved her position and is getting closer to returning to the top hundred of the world rankings.

Latvia's top tennis player Alona Ostapenko has dropped seven positions in the latest Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, now sitting at 36th place. For Ostapenko, this means a further distance from the top thirty of the world rankings, where she has spent most of the last seasons.

The country's second-ranked player, Daria Semenistaya, on the contrary, improved her position. She climbed eight spots and now occupies 102nd place, coming close to returning to the top 100.

Retired player Anastasia Sevastova fell one position and is now at 284th place.

Among other Latvian tennis players, the most notable progress was shown by Sabine Rutlauka. She jumped 53 positions to take 746th place, setting a new personal record in the WTA rankings.

Beatrice Zeltiņa, Elza Tomase, and Daniela Wismane also made gains, while Adelina Lachinova, Diana Marcinkevich, and Daniela Darta Feldmane lost several positions.

What is important to note: despite the drop in the singles rankings, Ostapenko remains one of the strongest players in the world in doubles.

In the doubles rankings, Ostapenko climbed four positions and now ranks 10th in the world. Semenistaya fell 15 spots in the doubles rankings and occupies 168th position.

At the top of the world rankings is still Aryna Sabalenka. Elena Rybakina is in second place, and Iga Swiatek is third.

The top ten also includes Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, Mira Andrejeva, Coco Gauff, Elina Svitolina, Victoria Mboko, and Karolína Muchová.

In the doubles rankings, the lead is maintained by Kateřina Siniaková.
