The upcoming coalition council meeting will surely be lengthy - questions have accumulated...

The last week has been very troubling for the ruling party - they have only managed to "defend" themselves against scandals and attacks. All of this will surely be discussed at the upcoming coalition council on Monday, March 30.

The ruling party will analyze the situation in the fuel sector - the price of diesel fuel continues to rise, and if the geopolitical situation does not improve by early April, the law passed by the Saeima to reduce the excise tax will prove almost useless - the reduction of 8.5 cents in the price of diesel will be purely symbolic. The government should already start preparing a "Plan B" - a more rapid reduction of the excise tax.

It is expected that the partners will discuss improving the response to emergencies related to the incursion of combat drones into our territory.

The ruling party will undoubtedly discuss two high-profile scandals from recent times - mass searches, detentions, and arrests of officials and entrepreneurs suspected of corruption in the IT sector, including in the area of information support for the electoral process!

The second criminal scandal is the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office to initiate a criminal case regarding possible violations in the government's support for the woodworking sector. There are suspicions that such support has led to the state losing tens of millions of euros.

The ruling party will discuss the political consequences of these scandals.
