In honor of national holidays, flags of Latvia will be raised on the tallest telecommunications towers in the country, reported the Latvian State Radio and Television Centre (LGCERT).
Today, on Lāčplēsis Day, flags will be raised in Valmiera, Sigulda, and Stalbe.
On Wednesday, November 12, the flag will be raised on the LGCERT tower in Jelgava, on Thursday, November 13, on the towers in Tukums, on Ergļu Street in Riga, in Viesīte, in Vīlāni, Līvāni, and Preiļi, and on Friday, November 14, on the towers in Cēsis, Daugavpils, and Rēzekne.
On November 18 at 8:00 AM, the state flag will be raised on the radio and television tower in Zakusala, Riga.
The tradition began in 2014 when the state flag measuring 3 by 6 meters was first raised on the television tower in Zakusala.
