The Chamber of Commerce and Industry already has a new leader today.
The head of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Janis Endzins, has accepted the challenge - he responded to the call of the Prime Minister and the head of the State Chancellery to lead a group to combat bureaucracy. Since the fight is expected to be long and arduous, Mr. Endzins decided to temporarily leave his position as chairman of the board of the chamber. The vacant position has been filled today by Katrina Zarina.
As for the group led by Endzins to combat bureaucracy, it is tasked with summarizing around 800 proposals submitted by entrepreneurs to reduce bureaucracy. It is worth noting that the working group on combating bureaucracy, which was headed by the head of the State Chancellery, R. Kronbergs, completed its active work back in April, preparing 21 proposals for the government to reduce bureaucracy. Some proposals have already been accepted, while others are still in progress. However, it is evident that the process of simplifying administrative procedures is moving very, very slowly.
