In the event of an airspace threat, passengers of public transport will not be left on the road, and after the threat ends, the flight will be completed, promises the Ministry of Transport.

These are the recommendations prepared by the ministry for its subordinate institutions and state companies.

According to the recommendations, during an orange alert, flights in the threat zone do not commence, and vehicles do not enter this territory.

In situations where there is no direct obvious threat (yellow alert), the flight continues if it is possible to leave the danger zone within 20 minutes. If this is not possible, the vehicle is directed to the nearest location where passengers and crew can take shelter.

On the railway, if possible, evacuation to waiting rooms at stations is organized. The bus driver or train conductor informs passengers about the further actions of the vehicle. After the threat is lifted, transportation along the routes resumes.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Andulis Židkov, explains that in cases of airspace threats, passengers in public transport — regional buses and trains — will be informed by drivers and conductors.

"The most important thing for passengers to remember in such cases is that no one will be left on the road or in a place where the train has stopped," emphasizes Židkov.
