Воздушная тревога!

Starting from May 23, the National Armed Forces will use a two-level alert notification system to inform the public about possible aerial threats or the need for immediate action, the military reported to the bb.lv portal.

In the future, the National Armed Forces will use two levels of notifications:

yellow warning — an informational message that does not require immediate action from residents but calls for awareness of a possible threat in the airspace of Latvia;

orange warning — a message about a confirmed threat in the airspace of Latvia, requiring immediate action from residents according to the instructions received.

As the level of aerial threat increases or decreases, the messages from the cellular alert system may change — from yellow warning to orange and vice versa. The cellular alert system is one of the state’s early warning tools, allowing for prompt communication to residents about security risks and necessary actions in crisis situations.

Yellow Warning

BE PREPARED! The National Armed Forces inform about a possible threat in the airspace of Latvia. No additional actions are required at this time. If the situation changes, you will receive a notification from the cellular alert system with further instructions.

Orange Warning

ACT! The National Armed Forces inform — a threat has been detected in the airspace of Latvia. Take shelter indoors and follow the principle of two walls! Keep an eye on official messages. If you notice a low-flying or suspicious object, do not approach it and call 112! Further information will be provided regarding the end of the threat.
