Educational institutions of the Riga municipality will not operate if a mobile network notification about a threat in the airspace is in effect in the capital by 6 AM, said Girts Lapinš, head of the committee on security, order, and anti-corruption prevention of the Riga City Council.
If the sent notification is not revoked by 6 AM, parents should not bring or pick up children from educational institutions, clubs, or camps.
If the threat is announced during classes, children will remain at the educational institution until it is over and will be taken to a safe place. During an air threat, parents will not be allowed to pick up children from kindergartens and schools.
Riga's Vice Mayor Edwards Ratnieks stated at a press conference that the municipality has developed an action instruction for residents in case of a drone threat and will conduct an information campaign so that Riga residents know how to act in emergencies.
As Lapinš explained, the action algorithms are borrowed from Ukraine, where active combat operations are ongoing.
