Due to rising fuel prices and, consequently, the increase in the cost of products and services, an active discussion about the prices of seasonal berries in Latvia has unfolded on social media. Users are discussing the appearance of cherries and the noticeable price variation for them.

One user on the social network Threads reported that sweet cherries are already being sold at the Central Market for 29 euros per kilogram.

"Sweet cherries are already available at the Central Market — 29 euros per kilogram. Don’t thank me," wrote Liene.

In the comments, users reacted ironically to such a product price:

"I need to rush to buy some before they’re all gone."

"I think it’s already too late. Everything is sold out."

"I’ll miss this opportunity; let it be for others."

At the same time, other participants in the discussion noted that there are more affordable prices:

"I just bought some for 6 euros per kilogram."

As previously reported by the Nasha.lv portal, a discussion has erupted on social media about seemingly absurd examples of prices. A widely discussed situation was when a bunch of radishes cost a whopping 8 euros at the market. This raises the question — are such prices reasonable, and are there any rational limits to the price increases?
