When is the right time to treat for ticks in the garden or vegetable patch? The main thing is to ensure none are left!
– We plan the first wave of treatment for early to mid-May, when ticks are most active. This is a critically important moment: by eliminating the parasites at the beginning of the season, we prevent their mass reproduction, – says disinfection technician Konstantin Yurin.
– The second treatment is carried out in early September – we reduce the population for the next season. If the area borders a forest or was heavily infested last season, we add a summer treatment in June or July.
It is important to monitor the weather: we choose a dry, windless day with a temperature of +15...+25 degrees.
The best time is in the morning or evening hours. We must check the forecast for 2–3 days ahead: there should be no precipitation, otherwise the effectiveness of the treatment will be reduced.
How to prepare the area for treatment?
Mow the tall grass.
Remove fallen leaves and branches.
Clean the areas along fences, buildings, and paths.
Thin out shrubs, remove debris and construction materials.
Clear the space around the compost pile.
The cleaner the area, the better.
