A survey conducted by the international research and technology company Gemius shows that the parties 'Latvija pirmajā vietā' (LPV) and 'Progresīvie' (P) are gaining the most popularity among Latvian internet users.
At the same time, the greatest support among candidates for the position of Prime Minister is received by Ainars Šlesers (LPV), followed by Andris Kulbergs (AS) and Evika Siliņa (JV). A significant portion of respondents, however, have no opinion on the future Prime Minister.
According to the survey results, 14.3% of respondents are ready to vote for LPV — an increase of 5.9 percentage points compared to the February Gemius study. In second place is 'Progresīvie' with 14.1% (+0.9 p.p.). The third place is occupied by 'Jaunā Vienotība' (JV) with 9.4%, with the party's support decreasing by 5.7 p.p.
Next are the National Alliance (NA) with 8.4% (–0.5 p.p.) and 'Apvienotais saraksts' (AS) with 8.2% (+1.3 p.p.). The party 'Mēs mainām noteikumus' (MMN) scores 8.1% (+0.8 p.p.), while 'Suverēnā Vara, Apvienība Jaunlatvieši' (SV/AJ) receives 6.1% (+0.8 p.p.).
The Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) is supported by 5.2% of respondents (+1.1 p.p.), and 'Latvijas attīstībai' (LA) has 3.9% (+1.7 p.p.). 'Saskaņa' (S) receives 2.9% (–1.3 p.p.), and 'Stabilitātei!' (St!) has 2.2% (–0.6 p.p.).
When asked which candidate for Prime Minister they would vote for, 14.5% of respondents indicated Ainars Šlesers (LPV) — an increase of 5.2 p.p., placing him in the lead. Andris Kulbergs (AS) receives 10.4% (–0.9 p.p.), while Evika Siliņa (JV) gets 8.6% (–3.3 p.p.).
Following are Julia Stepanenko (SV/AJ) with 5.4% (–0.6 p.p.), Alvis Hermanis (MMN) with 4.9% (unchanged), and Artis Pabriks (LA) with 4.9% (–0.7 p.p.). Kaspars Briškens (P) receives 4.2% (+0.9 p.p.), and Ilze Indriksoņe (NA) has 3.7% (+0.1 p.p.).
The option 'No opinion' was chosen by 23.2% of respondents (slightly less than in February), while the option 'Other' received 10.8%.
The survey was conducted from March 31 to April 7 among 1,538 internet users in Latvia. The study was carried out using the online questionnaire gemiusAdHoc, which was randomly shown to users. The obtained data were weighted by age and the language used at home.
