This year, the first newborn at the Riga Maternity Hospital was a girl, reports the LETA agency.
The baby girl was born at 1:25 AM. Soon after, at 1:39 AM, a boy was born. Another girl was born at 6:27 AM.
The Riga Maternity Hospital expects that these children will not be the only ones born today.
In 2024, a total of 12,571 children were born in Latvia. Data for the previous year has not yet been collected.
