Gemius Revealed the Preferences of Latvian Voters

A survey conducted by the international research and technology company Gemius shows that the most popular political parties among internet users in Latvia are the National Alliance (NA), "Latvia First" (LPV), and "New Unity" (JV).

At the same time, the greatest support among candidates for the position of Prime Minister remains with Ainars Slesers, followed by Ilze Indrikson and Andris Kulbergs. A significant portion of respondents, however, have not yet formed an opinion about the future Prime Minister or would prefer another candidate not currently nominated.

The survey revealed the opinions of Latvian internet users regarding political parties. The data obtained indicate that 16.5% of respondents would vote for the National Alliance (NA), with its popularity increasing by another 1.2% compared to the Gemius survey conducted in November. In second place is the party "Latvia First" (LPV) with 15.5%, showing the largest increase in popularity — by 4.8%.

The third place is held by "New Unity" (JV) with 11.3%, although the party's support has decreased by 2.3%. The Progressive party (P) would receive votes from 11% of respondents, which is 1.7% less than before. The option "Other" was chosen by 10.1% of respondents, most frequently mentioning the party "No Party". Meanwhile, the political party "United List" (AS) would be supported by 9.6% of respondents, indicating a growth of 2.4%.

When asked which candidate for Prime Minister they would vote for, 17.2% of respondents named Ainars Slesers (LPV). Compared to the November Gemius survey, this represents an increase of 5.8%, allowing the deputy to maintain leadership among Prime Minister candidates. Ilze Indrikson (NA) also gained significant popularity among respondents — her support grew by 4.9%, reaching 11.9% in this survey. Andris Kulbergs (AS) received 11.5%, which is 3.4% more than before.

The option "Other" was chosen by 10.7% of respondents; the most frequently mentioned were Alvis Hermanis (13.6%) and Andris Shuvaevs (8.9%). 8% of users would choose Evika Silina (JV) as the next Prime Minister, indicating a decrease of 2.8%. 21.4% of respondents have no opinion on the next Prime Minister, indicating uncertainty among part of the society on this issue.

The survey was conducted from December 16 to 26 and covered 1,423 internet users in Latvia. The research was carried out using the gemiusAdHoc online survey through pop-up internet questionnaires displayed to randomly selected users. The data obtained were weighted by age and the language used at home.
