The written test in the first round of selection showed that the greatest difficulties for candidates for the position of prosecutor were general questions in the field of criminal law, the LETA agency was informed by the prosecutor's office.

According to the regulations, the selection process takes place in the form of an open competition. It is aimed at assessing the general and legal knowledge necessary for the performance of a prosecutor's duties, as well as evaluating the candidate's compliance with the requirements of the Prosecutor's Law and the necessary competencies and skills for the position.

The selection process consists of three stages. The first stage involves a written test that assesses the general and legal knowledge of the candidates. The test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, and candidates have 40 minutes to complete it. One point is awarded for each correct answer. To advance to the second stage, the number of errors must not exceed ten. The questions for the test are specifically prepared for each competition, approved by the Attorney General, and have restricted access status.

On October 15, the first stage of the selection for the position of prosecutor took place. Of the 17 candidates, four were not allowed to proceed to the second stage.

The evaluation of the results of the last test shows that the greatest difficulties were encountered with general questions in the field of criminal law, the prosecutor's office noted.

In the second stage, the submitted applications and documents are evaluated according to formal criteria: the candidate's compliance with the requirements of the Prosecutor's Law, the absence of restrictions for holding the position of prosecutor, and an interview to assess the candidate's social skills.

In the third stage, the Prosecutors' Qualification Commission conducts interviews with the candidates, evaluating their skills according to established criteria, motivation, the ability to justify it, previous professional and life experience, as well as compliance with the requirement of the Prosecutor's Law regarding impeccable reputation.
