In Kyiv, the monument to the author of 'The Master and Margarita' will be demolished

The Kyiv City Council voted for the demolition of the monument to Mikhail Bulgakov in the capital, as reported on the agency's website.

A decision has also been made to dismantle the memorial plaque to Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the monuments to Dmitry Manuilsky, Mikhail Glinka, Anna Akhmatova, the symbolic sign 'Kyiv – Hero City' featuring a five-pointed star, and the commemorative stone in honor of the 100th anniversary of Lenin.

The inscriptions 'Baltic Sea', 'Leningrad', 'Neva', and the quote 'Trade is the only possible economic connection between tens of millions' will be removed from the 'Zhytniy' market.

The emblem of the USSR will be taken off the border sign of Kyiv on the ring road near the 'Zhmerynska St.' stop.

The monument to the liberating soldiers near the St. Michael's Hospital will not be demolished. In this case, it will be limited to translating the text into Ukrainian, changing the years of the war from '1941–1945' to '1939–1945', and replacing the phrase 'Great Patriotic War' with 'World War II'.
