We have to learn and adapt, we need new memories, new traditions.
The wife of famous Hollywood actor Bruce Willis spoke about preparing for Christmas under new circumstances. The family continues to celebrate the holidays, but now they are adapting to new conditions — the actor's incurable illness. His wife, Emma Heming, shared this in an interview with People.
According to her, the family is already preparing for the Christmas celebration, despite the difficulties associated with Bruce's health condition. Heming explained that dementia is a very challenging disease, but she tries to support her husband and find room for joy.
"We have to learn and adapt, we need new memories, new traditions that didn't exist before. Life just goes on. Dementia is hard, but there is still joy in it," Emma shared.
She also pointed out the importance of preserving traditions in a renewed format and emphasized that for her, happiness is being close to her loved one.
"I can be his wife and be by his side. And those are moments of happiness," Heming concluded.
It was previously reported that 70-year-old Bruce Willis ended his career due to illness. Initially, he was suspected of having aphasia, but the diagnosis changed to frontotemporal dementia. The disease progressed, and the actor stopped recognizing his loved ones. In the future, Bruce Willis's brain may serve science, as the family intends to donate it for medical research.
