There are three main reasons why a cat may wake her owner early in the morning, scientists believe.
Firstly, the cat may simply be hungry. If the owner wakes up early in the morning to feed their beloved pet, she will remember this as a successful experience and will subsequently repeat such untimely requests. To solve the problem, check if the pet has enough food throughout the day.
Secondly, the cat may simply not be accustomed to a daily routine, as she generally has far fewer responsibilities in her life than you do. She doesn’t need to go to work, manage household chores, etc. At the same time, the cat values predictability. So, if you train her to eat at a time that is convenient for you, spontaneous morning wake-ups will cease.
Finally, thirdly, which partly stems from the previous point, the cat may lack daytime play and other activities. Ensure she expends energy evenly through such activities, and she will likely adjust to your sleep schedule.
