When I am stressed, I often crave food. How to properly 'eat away stress'?
- Prefer protein-rich foods: chicken and turkey meat, fish, dairy products (especially cottage cheese and Greek yogurts), eggs, protein shakes, and legumes. It is recommended to consume about two liters of water a day (if there are no contraindications). It is important to choose regular drinking water, - noted dietitian and therapist Olga SHUKH in an interview with 'AiF'.
- A great alternative to fatty and unhealthy foods will be healthy fats: nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, and pine nuts), vegetable oils (unrefined sunflower, olive, mustard, flaxseed), avocados, and fatty sea fish (salmon, mackerel, herring). It is important to include vegetables and fruits in the diet to enrich the body with necessary vitamins and minerals, especially during stressful periods.
Remember: 'eating away stress' is an acceptable way to cope with it, the main thing is to do it wisely.
