At the end of the week, the air temperature in Latvia will exceed +20 degrees in many places, but heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible, according to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Already on Friday, in the first half of the night, a brief rain will pass in the west, while during the day brief rain is expected in other areas as well, with possible thunderstorms, and at night there will also be heavy downpours.
At night, the air will cool down to +4...+9 degrees, while during the day the maximum air temperature will reach +16...+21 degrees.
On Saturday and Sunday, the weather conditions in Latvia will be influenced by the activity of cyclones, so the weekend will feature dynamic weather conditions.
On Saturday night, brief rain is expected in some places in the west, and during the day in many parts of the country, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms in isolated areas. During thunderstorms, the wind may become gusty.
At night, fog will thicken in some areas in the east, which will reduce visibility.
Sunday will be cloudy, with clouds dissipating only in some areas in the east. Rain will mainly fall in the eastern part of the country, with thunderstorms possible in some places as well.
At night, the minimum air temperature will be +7...+12 degrees, while in Kurzeme it will be cooler at +4...+8 degrees, and during the day the thermometer will reach +16...+21 degrees. The weather along the Kurzeme coast will remain slightly cooler.
The beginning of the next week will also be rich in precipitation, with rain expected in many places, and thunderstorm clouds may form, but the continuation of the new week will bring not only drier but also sunnier weather. In most areas, the air will warm up above +20 degrees.
