Is Cola Really an Effective Solvent?

No.

Cola has a relatively high acidity (pH around 2.5) due to the presence of phosphoric acid in its composition. This acid is used in cleaning products and for removing rust from metal items. However, the drink itself is not capable of dissolving metals, biological tissues, or nail substances, and it does not even remove grease.

Soda can be used to remove dirt and dust from metal surfaces, but after "cleaning," the items need to be thoroughly rinsed with water; otherwise, sticky residues will remain on them.
