How to Properly Care for a "Money Tree" at Home?

Crassula, also known as jade plant, is popularly called the "money tree."

This plant got its name due to its leaves resembling coins. There is a belief that Crassula attracts wealth and financial well-being. However, it is appreciated not only for the legends but also for its attractive appearance.

Caring for a jade plant does not require special efforts. It is best to place the plant in a bright location, preferably on the southeast side. To make the "money tree" look appealing, it is necessary to shape its crown by carefully trimming the branches and leaving 3-4 leaves on each. It is beneficial to periodically turn the plant towards the light source from different sides. In winter, Crassula enters a dormant period, so it will be comfortable at a temperature of +10…15 degrees in the room or on the veranda. It is important to keep the plant away from heating appliances. Watering during the winter should be done 1-2 times a week, avoiding the soil in the pot from drying out.

It is recommended to plant or transplant the "money tree" in March. Young plants quickly develop their root system, so they should be transplanted annually. Adult specimens older than 5 years can be transplanted every 2-3 years.

To ensure that the "money tree" contributes to improving the financial situation of its owners, it is essential to place coins of various denominations at the bottom of the pot before planting in spring (in March).
