What will happen if no measures are taken to combat pests in the garden?

Many gardeners attribute their failures to the damage of vegetable crops by pests and diseases, directing efforts to eliminate them using pesticides.

According to statistical data, the absence of special measures to combat pests and diseases can lead to crop losses from planting to processing or consumption of vegetable products in the range of 25-50%. Meanwhile, the use of integrated pest management systems with active use of pesticides reduces the level of losses to 25-35%.

It is evident that no radical solution to the problem of pest and disease control has been found on this path. It is also clear that this approach leads to a deterioration in the quality of vegetable products due to the accumulation of pesticide residues, as well as to negative impacts on the environment — soil, water, and air. Owners of small plots of land where they grow vegetables cannot afford to pollute their land. New approaches and solutions are necessary here.

Practice shows that vegetables are significantly less affected by diseases and pests on narrow beds than in traditional amateur vegetable gardening. In most cases, plantings can be protected without the use of pesticides. The reason is simple: plants that receive a complete balanced diet and sufficient water, as well as having greater access to sunlight, air, and living space due to wide paths, have increased immunity, which, in turn, enhances their resistance to infections and pests. No less important is the absence of weeds, which weaken vegetable crops, create conditions for the reproduction of pests, and are often carriers of pathogenic agents.
