What diseases, besides the common cold, does garlic treat?

Agronomist and gardener Alexander Khorobrovets shares his experience:

- Garlic is rich in substances with antibiotic properties, as well as vitamins and phytoncides.

Research shows that garlic phytoncides effectively suppress influenza viruses, as well as the pathogens of cholera, typhoid fever, and dysentery. In addition, they contribute to improved heart function, accelerate recovery processes in tissues, and positively affect the production of digestive juices.

In scientific medicine, garlic is used to treat pulmonary tuberculosis, influenza, and dysentery, as well as anthelmintic purposes. Externally, garlic is applied for purulent ulcers and wounds; in enemas — to combat pinworms. It also has a therapeutic effect in cases of chronic lead poisoning. In folk medicine, freshly squeezed garlic juice is used for the prevention and treatment of influenza, which is instilled into the nose with 2-3 drops three times a day.

For colds, crushed garlic cloves are taken internally as a disinfectant. Additionally, garlic paste can be used as a mustard plaster and applied to the temples for headaches. Garlic also helps to get rid of warts and calluses (crushed garlic combined with fresh pork fat). In cases of general weakness and dizziness, it is recommended to take garlic tincture (40 g of peeled cloves poured over 100 g of alcohol, infused for 7 days in a closed container, then the solution is drained, mint tincture is added, and taken in doses of 10-15 drops 2-3 times a day half an hour before meals).
