The varietal composition of your garden should be OPTIMAL, staying within reasonable limits.
In literature, one can find many recommendations based on foreign experience regarding the necessity of a narrow assortment and even monospecificity in industrial gardens to achieve maximum profit. However, this approach is not suitable for our country.
The natural conditions in regions where industrial horticulture is actively developed abroad are significantly more favorable and stable than ours. Therefore, it is justified and profitable there, while the opposite is true here. Based on many years of observations in various corners of our republic, it has been repeatedly noted that in different years and in different places, yield can depend on one variety or group of varieties, and vice versa. Conditionally, with certain reservations, it can be stated that the more quality varieties in the garden, the higher and, more importantly, the more stable the yield over the years.
Even on a small plot of six hundred square meters, it is worth having several of the best varieties for each species. For example, the assortment of apple trees can be selected so that you can enjoy fresh fruits from July of the current year until July of the next year.
