One kiwi contains more vitamin C than an orange, making it especially beneficial during cold season, noted endocrinologist E. Kazachkova.

As the specialist noted, vitamin C strengthens the immune system, helps fight viruses and bacteria, contributes to the strengthening of blood vessels, and is involved in collagen synthesis, which is important for skin health.

Kiwi is also rich in fiber, which is beneficial for the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, it contains actinidin—a enzyme that improves protein digestion.

Moreover, kiwi helps control weight. It is low in calories (40–60 kcal per 100 grams), but due to its high fiber content, it provides a good feeling of fullness.

The doctor noted that kiwi skin is usually not eaten, although it is rich in antioxidants and dietary fiber. If desired, the fruit can be consumed whole.

Kiwi can be added to salads, smoothies, and can also be used as a marinade for meat due to its ability to tenderize fibers.
