Fertilizing raspberries during the fruit ripening period helps increase yield and improve the taste of the berries.
Regular application of fertilizers reduces the risk of shrub infection and contributes to their overall health improvement.
In the second half of June and early July, raspberries actively bear fruit. However, an equally important period occurs in the latter part of summer.
During this time, the formation of the ovary takes place, which will actively develop the following spring. Therefore, it is recommended to fertilize the plants at least twice during the summer.
The first fertilization is carried out at the end of June or the beginning of July. This is important as it makes the berries more aromatic and sweet.
The shrubs are fertilized with cow manure, compost, or chicken droppings. The second fertilization is applied in August, by digging furrows 20 cm deep along the raspberry rows and no closer than 30 cm from the bushes.
Potassium salt (40 g) and superphosphate (60 g) are added to the furrows. This dosage is calculated for one raspberry bush.
